Straight Edge Stevedore Services, Inc. has been in the Sonoma County service market for eleven years. We are a competitive company with a family style leadership mindset. Being a staffing agency by classification, we strive to be more of a permanent job placement agency. It has always been our goal to put people to work and encourage all vendors to keep these individuals as full time employees either by hiring them or keeping them on SESS Inc’s payroll.
Depending on each individual’s background and experience level, full time employment is our goal. If we can get a person into the entry level position often times it becomes a matter of the individual stepping up to the plate and impressing the potential employer with his or her motivations skills. Occasionally an applicant’s background may affect their hire ability and with all confidentiality we are happy to keep this individual working through SESS Inc’s payroll indefinitely if necessary.
Training and safety are our biggest priority and we take pride in the quality of preparation that is involved in these areas. Once applicants are certified safety wise to report to an assignment we do a site safety certification to familiarize them to specific hazards, emergency evacuation routes and location of hazmat information and locations. As well as initial meeting with the supervisors or lead people this gives our applicant an opportunity to visit the entire site he or she will be working in.
On the average SESS Inc will retain approximately 25 to 30 permanent full time employees each year. This number does not reflect the amount of people who have been hired as permanent employees to our respective vendors. It is our goal to offer jobs to every individual who is in pursuit of that chance to get a new start in life or perhaps just a change in employment careers. We are not “A head hunting company”, interested in throwing bodies out there. We really do care about our applicants and are willing to go the extra mile to get someone in that position to get busy and get well financially.
